"Confession is an act of honesty and courage - an act of entrusting ourselves, beyond sin, to the mercy of a loving and forgiving God."
Pope John Paul 2
At St. Thomas Becket, preparation for Reconciliation is a beautiful, healthy and positive experience. It is offered in a way that affirms the value of and God’s love for the child. The process also affirms one’s love for oneself. Preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation usually precedes preparation for the Sacrament of Eucharist; however, a parent may choose to delay preparation, usually to fourth or fifth grade.
Baptized children who are 7 years of age (second grade) or older are prepared for First Reconciliation by their parents and the St. Thomas Becket Parish Faith Formation program or a Catholic School faith program. Children in Sacramental Preparation must also be enrolled in either the our Faith Formation program or enrolled in a Catholic School.
