After phenomenal growth in northern Dakota County in the 1980s, the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis formed another Catholic church in Eagan, MN, in 1989 and appointed Fr. Thomas Kommers founding pastor.
Beginning Feb. 4, 1990 and throughout construction of our current facility, the congregation met in a temporary location coined 'the old post office'. The first Masses included our now famous coffee and doughnut hospitality and nametags.
From the beginning, the parish had a strong focus on serving our local community, focused on northern Dakota County at the time, and a strong sense of personal ownership and participation by parishioners.
We quickly began to outgrow the temporary space at 'the old post office' and broke ground on our current building in 1992.
On Easter Vigil, Apr. 3, 1994, we celebrated our first Mass in our new building.
With over 1,600 families today, our active community continues to put our faith in action within our church walls and outside in the community.
In spite of our growth, we remain a welcoming community with a varied offering of social, service, support and learning events for people of all ages and life stages.
As our mission states, we are 'A welcoming, Spirit-led Catholic community where each is called to love, to serve and to be hope.'
