Purpose of Position:
The Cantor prepares and sings the psalm verses and othersolos and leads the assembly in sung prayer.

Amount of Time Required:
Time commitment is 35-45 minutes prior to Mass. It is helpful to attend 90-minuterehearsal Tuesday nights September-May.
Length of Commitment:
Ideally one year or more, 1- 4 times per month.

Weekly choir rehearsals and coaching as needed.

Purpose of Position:
Serves the worshiping assembly by carrying the Cross or Prayer Basket and by assisting the Presider at the altar, at the chair and with special rituals. Tends to the candles before and after Mass.

Responsibilities:

Purpose of Position:
Work with Liturgy Coordinator to plan and coordinate the Blessing of the Beasts event around the Feast of St. Francis in early October. The event is open to all who want to bring their animal to church to receive a blessing.

This ministry welcomes people into the worshiping community by supporting and making holy the domestic church.To love: Pets both give us love and are the recipients of our love. To serve: We serve our parishioners by recognizing the importance of animals to us and to our environment.
Responsibilities:
Work with Liturgy Coordinator to plan and coordinate this event around the Feast of St. Francis. Feast day is Oct 4, event is typically on a Sunday afternoon close to Oct 4. Committee meetings to plan the event begin in late August

Purpose of Position:
To minister the Body and Blood of Christ to the assembly at weekend and holy day Masses. May also serve as a Greeter before Mass and should assist with the purification of vessels after Mass.

The Eucharistic Minister is also a minister of hospitality who fills the roles of greeting and feeding the worshiping assembly. During the ministering of communion the minister calls the baptismal names of all who are wearing a visible nametag.Feeding people is an act of love, an act of service and a way of instilling the hope of the Resurrection in all who eat and drink of Christ’s sacrifice.
Responsibilities:
Enrolls and responds to Ministry Scheduler Pro. Enters unavailable times and responds when possible to the notifications of vacancies in the ministry. Arrives early at mass to check-in, serve as a greeter. Knows the routine of going to the altar, receiving communion, ministering communion at assigned place and to those who cannot come in procession. Assists in the purification of vessels after Mass.

A tradition at STB is to serve: cookies, donuts, juice and coffee to the worshipers after the Saturday and Sunday morning Masses so that parishioners feel welcome and can socialize after Mass.

This ministry welcomes people into community by serving them and giving them an opportunity to become a part of community life. It is an act of love and service and gives hope to those seeking a parish home.
Responsibilities:

After communion pull out beverages and trays, pour drinks, greet parishioners, and clean-up.

Charge on STB’s house charge at Cub to purchase miscellaneous items on an as needed basis for weekend hospitality and deliver to the church.(A tradition at STB is to serve: cookies, donuts and coffee to the worshipers after the Saturday and Sunday morning Masses so that parishioners feel welcome and can socialize after Mass.)

Laundering altar linens and servers’ albs.

These ministers dignify our liturgies by providing for clean purificators, corporals, credence table cloths and servers’ albs. This is an act of love and service.
Responsibilities:
Collecting the altar linens at the beginning of the week and return them washed and folded before the weekend. Collecting server’s albs three times a year and returning them on their hangers.

Laundry skills. Ironing usually not needed unless the minister wishes.

Responsibilities:
To check in Eucharistic Ministers at Mass; make sure the communion positions are covered; assist with giving Eucharistic Ministers communion; supervise the purification of vessels at the end of Mass, set out EM crosses for next Mass.

Through the telling of the stories and the reading of the letters of our Catholic Christian heritage, the lector makes our faith come alive in the hearts of the faithful. This is an act of hospitality, love, service and hope.
Responsibilities:
Enrolls and responds to Ministry Scheduler Pro. Enters unavailable times and responds when possible to the notifications of vacancies in the ministry.The Lector proclaims the Word of God and may process in the Gospel Book and lead the Prayer of the Faithful in the absence of the deacon at Mass and other liturgies as requested. The lector also welcomes the worshipers and introduces the Mass before the liturgy and makes the announcements after communion.

This committee prepares the liturgical seasons by studying the scriptures of the season, looking at what is going on in the Church and the world, finding a focus for the season, and creating rituals and symbols that will help to make the season meaningful for our parish.

Responsibilities:
They meet monthly during the planning process from September to November, January to April. After the season they evaluate the decisions they made to find where they can improve. They read and study the scriptures and other materials pertaining to the season and from them decide on a focus for the season. They choose rituals and suggest music and environment to support the focus of the season. They also work with the homilists to help prepare homilies that support the focus of the season.

16 years and up.Skills required: reading and good imagination; willingness to learn about liturgy and to engage in discussions with others. No experience required.
Amount of Time Required:
Time commitment is 1.5 hour meetings once a month during the preparation season in addition to time reading through scripture to prepare.

Responsibilities:
Decorate for the seasons of Advent, Christmas, Winter Ordinary Time, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, and Summer and Fall Ordinary Time. They also prepare seasonal ritual items, i.e. Advent “straw,” Easter vigil candles, etc.

All parishioners may participate. There are jobs for all skill levels.Skills required: visual creativity; willingness to learn about the liturgical environment, no experience required. Adaptations can be made for disabilities.

These ministers serve out of a love for the worshiping community and the liturgy. Through the efficient accomplishment of their tasks they insure that worshipers may enter into prayer and praise without the distractions of preparation.

We go forth from our relevant, engaging Spirit-led liturgies to love and serve the needs of one another. For we believe that the Mass is never ended, it must be lived.
Responsibilities:
Unlocking and locking of the church building, turning on the baptismal font and lights in the church, setting up for communion, checking to see that all ministers are present, assisting all the ministers in any way necessary, working with the ushers, if present, to get help with the collection and inviting people to take part in the procession of the gifts, orienting them if necessary, and finding people who take part in the liturgy seasonally (i.e. bell banner carriers). During mass, sorting and placing the collection in the safe with the help of an unrelated person, moving the ciborium during communion and overseeing the smooth progress of the liturgy. After mass, returning the sacristy to order for the next mass, checking the pews for Worship Aids, etc, turning off lights and the font and locking the church doors. Mass Coordinators supervise mass counts three months out of every year.

Preparing the service, studying the readings, choosing prayers and preparing a reflection. Leading the service and ministering communion from the tabernacle to the worshipers.

Purpose of Position:
To help guide Worship Council in planning and executing activities that encourage members to share their unique gifts, talents and strengths.
Connection to Parish Mission Statement:
Worship (Liturgy/Eucharist) is the source and summit of the Christian life (Lumen gentium, 11). Worship supports our call to love, serve and be hope.

Worship (Liturgy/Eucharist) is the source and summit of the Christian life (Lumen gentium, 11).Worship supports our call to love, serve and be hope.Responsibilities: Attend monthly meetings on the first Thursday of the month (excluding July and August), from 5:45 pm – 8 pm.Contribute to discussions and ongoing formation in liturgy.
